Meret is a young, adventurous boy and is the protagonist of Mindo. He lives in a sleepy village nestled in the mountains. He is never seen without his big straw hat.

I made Meret as a present for Oskar, the creator of Mindo. It is my first attempt at making a doll and is heavily inspired by the baby dolls with a porcelain head and limbs and a squishy torso.

Meret's head and limbs are made with polymer clay, which I mixed into the correct colours and added definition with old makeup. His body and clothes are made from fat quarters I got from spotlight. The skeleton for his hat is made from thin card. I then used unraveled twine for the straw effect.

As I wanted to keep this project a surprise, I didn't take any progress pics. Instead here are some reference images I used:
