ItalyWe stayed in Italy for a month, so there are a lot of photos. Starting in Tuscany, we took the train all the way down to Sicily over ~1 week. Shoutout to TrenItalia for being the best public transport service we experienced in Europe. TuscanyOur first stop was Pistoia, which was our base for visiting other places in Tuscany like Florence (which had way too many tourists) and Lucca. I have cousins living there too! They took us hiking and invited us for meals and to hang out with their friends :)
OrvietoWe got to take the funicular up the mountain to Orvieto as walking would've taken hours! This place had a very interesting history as it had wells and caves dug out by the Etruscans and during the medieval period. I'm pretty sure that every restaurant had a cave system underneath that they would show you after you ate there.
RomeRome surprised me the most as I expected it to be as bad as Florence, but it was actually a very normal city! We wanted to spend a bit of time in nature, so we went to a large park in the outer areas of the city. The park had lots of ancient Roman ruins with the coolest being the massive aqueducts.
SorrentoOskar found us some very cheap accommodation in the form of a campsite! The weather was perfect for sleeping in a tent and ours had a beautiful view of the coast. We also found this gorgeous cove only a short walk from where we were staying.
